Creating snacking smiles throughout New England

 

About 16 years ago, I started working as a part time employee at the family owned MAC’s Kettle Corn Co. Not only did it help out the owner, but it also gave me the opportunity to have a flexible schedule and earn an income while raising 2 kids. Fastforward 6 years and I was presented with the opportunity to purchase MAC’s Kettle Corn Co. I jumped on it! I can own my own business while still being able to do what I need to do for my kids? Yes please! That’s when MAC’s Gourmet Popcorn Company was established. My husband took on the task of transforming his beloved garage into my new shop. Five months later and MAC’s Gourmet Popcorn Company was in its new home.

 

MAC’s Gourmet Popcorn offers a healthy snack alternative, by using simple ingredients to create a great taste. Due to cooking our product in corn oil, and not adding extra preservatives, we are able to keep the popcorn true to flavor while providing a healthy snack for all, including people with food allergies such as gluten or nuts. An 80 quart stainless steel kettle is used to cook our popcorn over an open flame, which, in turn, creates a flavor unique to our product. We describe it as the "Mmmmmm" factor. While our Kettle Corn is our most popular flavor, we also offer 10 other flavors that range from Sweet, to Spicy, to Savory. 

 

Three of our 11 flavors can be found in stores throughout Maine and into New Hampshire. In addition, we also offer a fundraising option for non-profits and other organizations looking to raise funds for their cause. We currently work with around 20 fundraising organizations throughout Maine and are located in over 50 stores throughout Maine and New Hampshire
